Best stroller wagons for active moms

Sharing is caring!

Has this ever happened to you? You are at an outdoor event and the dang stroller wheels get stuck in the grass. The stroller basket option really is like a pocket and you can’t truly fit all your gear in it. The portability of your stroller still lacks in its true nature and is difficult to fly with.

If you are a mom who loves to travel, get outdoors, spend time in nature but hate having limitations. This is a must-have for you. You are a free spirit like me and having gear to allow you to share that with your kids is what we need.

I have a love-hate relationship with strollers. As a mom of 3, I know the stroller roll woes. (Say that 3 times fast) A glimpse into my garage or trunk you will find not one but two strollers. At one point we owned a 3rd umbrella stroller too. If I am being truly transparent we even have a plastic wagon that sits at the top of our garage storage during the winter months. (Insert facepalm emoji) any time.

Travel systems and strollers are one of the top-selling baby items. It’s not surprising since a travel system is a must for every family. If you are like me you probably researched the heck out of your stroller. Yet, your stroller still has limitations that are frustrating.

Here is the solution I found with an option that I love!

I am about to show you a whole new world of “traveling with kid(s)” its called wagon strollers. Let me introduce you to exactly what a wagon stroller is.

It’s just like having a stroller except for the durability functions of these wagons creates the freedom to travel with true ease. These wagons are quickly increasing in popularity and it’s not hard to see why.

Reinventing the stroller

What is the common theme in our household? Why do we have so many? Because of the functionalities. The single stroller which is a Jeep brand with air tires allows us to go over all terrain. Plus the height of the handlebars is perfect my 6ft 8 husband.

Our double stroller from Graco that technically has several seating arrangements is great but still lacks. We are down to only being able to use only one of those options due to my son already having outgrown the seats when he reached the age of 3. Still a great feature of sit to stand which is what my son loves. Our littlest sits in the front.

How a wagon stroller will change your life

  1. It can fit more than one child and is great for ages 16 months and beyond 5 years of age.
  2. Your storage capability almost doubles when on outings
  3. You have a push & pull option
  4. Stroller wagons are very compact and easier to transport
  5. The wagon will serve well past just the toddler years, think picnic’s, beach days, sporting events on the fields.
  6. Weight capacity is larger allowing you to haul more
  7. Most wagon wheels are all-terrain
  8. Children can nap flat, doubles as a bassinet and a changing table
  9. Larger canopy coverage from the sun
  10. Harness seat belt system ensures safety at all times.

Nothing screams kids on the move like a stroller overflowing with arms, legs, bags, etc

The Ultimate stroller wagon on the market

Veer Cruiser

When it comes to a premium/rugged and true family travel. Veer Cruiser is the best in class. This dream travel system has got you covered. The flexibility and durability of this wagon make it worth every penny.

Specs of this wagon:

One of the best things about any wagon type stroller is having a true nap option and a quick diaper change is swift and easy. Ever run into a restroom that was disgusting or no changing table? Having a viable, clean place to do a quick diaper change is such a bonus.

The Veer Cruiser has a nap system you can purchase as an accessory.

Foldability on this wagon is awesome. It can fold completely flat after removing the wheels. This saves tons of trunk space and makes it so much easier to travel with.

The Veer Cruiser has really created a wagon that encompasses anything life can throw your way. It’s a dream come true for me as a mom. Things that come with the Veer and accessories, you can buy are:

  • removable footwell. Allowing the kiddos to place their feet horizontally to the floor.
  • 3-point harness system with option to buy 5-point harness/seat insert
  • 2 interior sidewall pockets
  • Room for 6 cup holders
  • Car seat adapter
  • Drink & Snack Tray
  • Attachable Storage basket
  • Nap system
  • Retractable canopy
  • Travel bag
  • Bug netting cover
  • Rain cover

Notes: Handle height is adjustable, handle grip,

This wagon excites me, it’s like a luxury car for kids. Check-out this review of the wagon done by a children’s boutique in California.

Alright, now I wanna talk about the AMAZING storage. One of the most frustrating things is the lack of storage regular strollers can have. The other part is accessing the storage.

The Veer wagon has an attachable storage bag which is detachable when not in use. This feature adds amble space and easy accessibility for whatever you need.

Additional comparable stroller wagons

Alright, whew! Let me calm down a bit. Let’s continue our journey through this new world of stroller wagons. I wanna introduce you to a few others of my top choices.

Kneez S7 Stroller

The Kneez S7 Stroller wagon is an awesome second option in my opinion. This stroller comes with a lot more out of the package and does have a lower price point. Not as rugged as the Veer but can do all-terrain.

I do like the kneenz has higher walls for when the kids are younger. I think this can be so useful to moms. Most kids get antsy being in a stroller, especially young toddlers. They just want to run and play.

With higher walls and the two drop-down side wall shades, you can do nap time, create a play area with toys, and have a changing place for kids. The Veer though has shorter walls which make it easy to climb in and out.

Specs of this wagon:

Now the Keenz stroller has two sets of wheels. A set which is your regular set and then sand wheels. The canopy option on this stroller covers across the whole wagon. You attach it by using the telescoping poles that come out from each side of the wagon.

The canopy also has a sheer zip-off the top that allows airflow with still some sun protection.

Keenz though does not have a wheel well so the kid’s legs with be in a traditional straight-leg position.

In regards to the seat belt options, the keenz comes with a 5-point harness.

Unlike the Veer Wagon, the Keenz comes with two traditional handles that rotate to several heights so that you can adjust the handles to your comfort level.

The kneez does have a storage system as well on the outside just like the Veer. What’s neat is that they throw in a free cooler that fits perfectly in the storage bag. There is an additional console on the opposite side with pockets, compartments and a zip pocket as well.

The interior of the kneez is not plastic and rubber-like the Veer its mostly fabric. This helps the wagon be much lighter than compared to its competitor the Veer. However, I think the cleanability might be a bit harder. I love the fact the Veer can be hosed down.

The Kneez does not fold flat like the Veer. It opens and closes in an accordion-style fold. You snap the safety strap closed to keep it from opening. A bit more on the bulky side when folded closed but does still work as a compact style stroller.

See a comparison of the strollers: You can check this video!

Alright, I had to include the Radio Flyer. There are the famous red wagon people. Everyone knows the iconic red wagon.

3-In-1 Tailgater Wagon® With Canopy -Stowaway cooler caddy & compact EZ fold

This wagon has a neat one-hand fold feature and just like the Veer and Keenz it has an extra storage/carrying space. You can add a cooler, folding chair and more. The stowaway caddie also folds up against the side of the wagon when not in use.

Furthermore, this wagon turns into a bench seat. Giving it a different seating option than your basic wagon seat. That is one of the reasons why it is called a 3-1.

The 3-In-1 Tailgater Wagon has a unique one-hand fold and easily fits in the back of a car. It’s all fabric and has a handle for pulling only.

Its canopy is similar to the Keenz in the fact that you attach it with the telescoping poles. It is one long surface cover, however no venting option.

Tips on how to afford a premium stroller wagon on a budget

Now I know the thought of dropping $300 or $500 to any normal family. Maybe it’s not in the budget right now but there are some simple ways you can save money to get your dream stroller wagon. First and foremost DO NOT GET INTO DEBT FOR THIS.

Find ways to spread out the payments on the wagon with no interest. You can sell unused items an even better option.

  • Host a garage sale of unused items
  • Ask for gift card’s on the baby’s first birthday in lieu of gifts
  • Resell outgrown children’s clothing
  • Ask for gift cards towards Amazon for any occasion
  • Consider Paypal 6 months no interest option on Amazon, if you know you can pay it within that time frame.

Get crafty with ways you can bring in an extra couple of dollars. You will be so glad you did! It will be one of the best investments you make in regards to travel gear for kids.

I am saving my pennies because we want a Veer for our family. If we do end up getting one. I will do a video in the future for my readers.

Keeping track of your premium strollers

I know you probably read the title thinking “keep track?” I am sad that I even have to consider writing this in my blog post. It’s a reality that people can be unkind.

With the chatter between moms, there has been theft of these premium strollers. I have a couple of ideas on how to help with this. If you are like at a place like Disney or a place with large crowds. Keeping your kids safe in crowds is hard enough.

You may want to consider first labeling your wagon stroller and customizing it. People will use labels with their family names. They will notify people that the wagon is being monitored with labels as well.

Buy a GPS tracker such as Tile. This is a great option, it has a 200 ft range. If you get out of range, you can click the community find button. If another person in the Tile community is nearby your item, you will be notified.

This thing is small enough you can hide it somewhere on the wagon that isn’t easily discoverable.

The second option would be to opt for a stroller lock. Think bike lock for your stroller. A neat one on the market is Buggyguard Retractable Stroller Lock.

This past mother’s day I sat down after lunch with my mother and mother-in-law. We had girl talk and talked about the seasons of motherhood, I am going through.

I showed them all about these cool wagons. Of course, they both said, “Gosh the gadgets you ladies have as moms is pretty neat now and days”.

After reviewing both strollers I asked them both which one of the wagon strollers would you guys pick. Would you believe that both of them chose the Veer Wagon! This just solidified my love for it!

So there you have it mamas get outdoors with your kids and enjoy life as a mom. Get your self a premium wagon stroller and feel the freedom. Enjoy not having limitations to where you can go and discover next.

Love this post? Share it with other mama friends you think would love it too.
